"Generosity is powerful and infectious. We believe that if we encourage generosity and help create leaders in pickup soccer communities, real life change can happen." -Danny Hoyos
Giving is a big part of what PS2G is all about. It's really the main part. Everything is done to give and for giving. We don't do this alone, though. We do this together as a community of soccer players, volunteers, and beyond PS2G we are part of a great community of like-minded soccer organizations working for social good.

Here are a few recent stories from our partnerships around the country.

Contributed by Mabel Bejarano from PS2G San Diego:
PS2G San Diego in collaboration with Youth and Leaders Living Actively (YALLA), organized a 5v5 soccer tournament in support of refugee and immigrant children in San Diego July 11th.

The tournament followed street pickup rules and was a friendly event where everyone was a winner. First of its kind. The event brought together 20 U8 to U13 teams (about 120 kids) from all Over San Diego to play in El Cajon in a friendly non competitive environment. Clubs in Southern California are used to competitive events where kids may experience pressure and stress. This event was an opportunity for kids to be able to just play and have fun. Coaches were asked not to coach, just sit back and relax.

Quote from a coach:
"Mabel.  We had a great time.  My team won their first summer tournament several weeks ago and that experience did not come close to you weekend friendly that YALLA  ran this weekend.  It was an opportunity to play better teams in a great  fun setting."

YALLA San Diego is an nonprofit based in El Cajon working with refugee and immigrant youth. YALLA is the only college prep program in California using soccer to motivate kids and help rebuild their lives in San Diego. For YALLA "College is the Goal".

Contibuted by Danny Hoyos from PS2G Dallas:
We participated in the 24Hour Soccer Match to raise funds and awareness for Lionsraw, Fifty-Eight Foundation and FC Dallas Foundation. It was a long day which started behind the goal line of the FC Dallas vs Houston Dynamo match where we managed to capture a video of the first goal

We also volunteered with Lionsraw to bring free soccer clinics to the kids of an under-resourced neighborhood in Dallas. During the clinics, we noticed the older kids/young adults were on another court kicking the ball around. We walked over with some cones and asked if we could play pickup. It was an amazing game with great team work. We got the chance to share the PS2G story and are looking to lead ongoing games in a new format we're developing to bring our cause to existing pickup communities.

Generosity is powerful and infectious. We believe that if we encourage generosity and help create leaders in pickup soccer communities, real life change can happen

We hope to continue highlighting stories of giving and teamwork from our community of partners. Big thanks to all of the charity partners that have joined us so far. We've been overjoyed to support and give to them and they have in return given so much to build our community.
